Motherson and Adani Ports Partner to Build Dighi Port RoRo Terminal in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Motherson, through its joint venture Samvardhana Motherson Hamakyorex Engineered Logistics Limited (SAMRX), has announced a partnership with Dighi Port Limited (DPL), a subsidiary of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), to develop a state-of-the-art Dighi Port RoRo Terminal in Maharashtra.

The collaboration aims to establish a specialised Roll-on/Roll-off facility dedicated to finished vehicle (FV) logistics on India’s west coast.

The new Dighi Port RoRo Terminal will be positioned as a key logistics gateway, backed by strong multimodal connectivity for automotive export and import operations.

Its strategic location and integrated infrastructure are expected to streamline supply chain efficiencies for leading automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

SAMRX, a leading player in finished vehicle logistics, will invest in the terminal in phases. The facility is designed to handle approximately 200,000 cars annually, with potential for future expansion.

The integrated ecosystem will offer comprehensive services including yard management, AI-enabled Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) systems, EV charging stations, customs clearance, and stevedoring.

APSEZ Strengthens Infrastructure Through Expansion of Dighi Port RoRo Terminal

APSEZ, India’s largest integrated ports and logistics company, continues to strengthen its nationwide footprint through the growth of its subsidiary Dighi Port Limited.

As an important strategic port on the west coast, Dighi Port enhances the company’s cargo handling efficiencies and supports broader industrial development in the region.

The development of the Dighi Port RoRo Terminal aligns with APSEZ’s commitment to building world-class port infrastructure, enabling seamless trade connectivity for both domestic and global partners.

Speaking on the partnership, Arjun Kochhar, CEO, Motherson Logistics Solutions Division, said the collaboration marks a major advancement in offering integrated logistics solutions for the automotive industry.

He emphasised that the new RoRo terminal will reduce logistics costs, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen India’s automotive value chain.

Ashwani Gupta, CEO & Whole-time Director of Adani Ports and SEZ, stated that the partnership brings together APSEZ’s infrastructure strength and Motherson’s logistics expertise to build a resilient, seamless nationwide vehicle movement network.

He added that the Dighi Port RoRo Terminal will accelerate trade, enhance supply chain efficiency, and deliver long-term value to both customers and local communities.
