IHCL Acquires 51 Per Cent Stake in Atmantan, Enters Integrated Wellness Segment

Pune: Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group, has announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in Sparsh Infratech Private Limited, the company that owns the luxury wellness brand Atmantan.

Located in Mulshi near Pune, Atmantan is known for its high-end wellness offerings rooted in holistic and science-backed programmes.

The acquisition gives IHCL full ownership of the Atmantan brand along with its proprietary expertise, enabling the hospitality major to expand its presence in the integrated wellness segment.

Atmantan Acquisition Marks IHCL’s Strategic Entry Into Integrated Wellness

The deal marks IHCL’s formal foray into the rapidly growing wellness tourism market. According to IHCL Managing Director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal, the sector is witnessing strong demand as travellers increasingly seek immersive and transformative wellness experiences that go beyond traditional therapies.

He stated that Atmantan’s distinctive wellness philosophy and well-established business model align seamlessly with IHCL’s broader brand portfolio.

Chhatwal added that the company aims to scale the integrated wellness platform across select destinations globally, leveraging IHCL’s extensive network and long-term strategic vision.

The partnership will be executed in collaboration with Atmantan founders Sharmilee and Nikhil Kapur, whose expertise will continue to guide the brand’s growth.

Nikhil Kapur, Founder-Director of Atmantan Wellness Centre, said the partnership represents a landmark development for the global wellness industry.

He noted that Atmantan has consistently focused on delivering holistic transformation through science-backed, integrated programmes.

With IHCL’s hospitality capabilities and access to its 13 million Taj InnerCircle members, the brand is poised to reach a much larger audience.

Co-founder Sharmilee Kapur emphasised that the brand was created on the belief that true wellness comes from the harmony of spirit (atma), mind (mana), and body (tann).

She said the collaboration with IHCL will allow the brand to expand without compromising on authenticity, ensuring guests continue to receive the deep, transformative experiences they expect.
