New York: Wadhwani AI Global has announced its launch to extend AI-driven solutions to Africa, Latin America, and other low and middle-income countries, reinforcing its mission to transform healthcare, education, and agriculture in underserved regions.
Wadhwani AI Global will partner with governments, multilateral institutions, and local organizations to embed AI into critical public systems, ensuring long-term impact for communities that need it most.
The initiative builds on the Wadhwani family’s $25 million commitment in India, which has supported the development and deployment of over 25 AI solutions that have already reached more than 150 million people.

Key Impact Achievements in India
- AI for Education: An oral reading fluency tool has assessed more than 6 million children through 11 million school-based evaluations in Gujarat and Rajasthan, offering automated insights to improve reading comprehension.
- AI for Healthcare: Tuberculosis screening solutions leverage cough sound data and patient history to help healthcare workers detect presumptive TB cases in resource-limited areas.
- AI for Clinical Support: A decision support system empowers 160,000 health workers to conduct more than 250,000 consultations daily, addressing the shortage of trained medical professionals in rural regions.
These examples highlight how context-specific AI can achieve large-scale impact while solving pressing local challenges.

Wadhwani AI Global Targets Africa, Latin America, and Developing Nations
The new entity is designed to address persistent barriers to AI adoption in low-resource environments, including roadmap alignment, technology adaptation, and sustainable implementation. Its core focus areas are:
- Advisory Services: Guiding governments on national AI strategies aligned with development priorities.
- Technology Development: Building adaptable AI solutions tailored to local needs.
- Capacity Building: Strengthening institutions and talent for sustainable AI adoption.
To lead the initiative, Nakul Jain has been appointed CEO and Managing Director. With 14 years of experience in AI, strategy, and international development, Jain has previously scaled AI solutions that reached millions. He is joined by Harsh Singh (Head of Growth), Gitika Sharan (Head of Marketing), and Aakash Pant (Lead Engineer).
