New Delhi: Roblox has unveiled two strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating the creation of innovative gaming experiences on its platform, including the Roblox Incubator, a new program designed to help experienced creators develop high-quality, scalable games for a rapidly expanding and increasingly mature audience.
The launch of the Roblox Incubator and a complementary initiative called Roblox Jumpstart is part of Roblox’s broader effort to push the boundaries of genre, gameplay, and visual style.
These programs are intended to facilitate the development of novel games featuring expanded genres such as role-playing games (RPGs), strategy titles, and shooters, along with advanced gameplay mechanics and distinctive aesthetics that differ from traditional Roblox experiences.
According to the company, the Roblox Incubator will play a key role in enabling creators to build sophisticated gaming experiences tailored for a growing demographic of older users on the platform.

Rising Opportunity Among Older Roblox Users
New age-checked data highlights a significant opportunity within Roblox’s older audience segment. As of January 31, approximately 45% of daily active users on Roblox have completed the platform’s age verification process, with 27% of this verified group identified as being over 18 years old.
The company said this demographic represents a substantial growth driver. In the United States, the 18–34 age group is expanding at more than 50%, more than double the growth rate of users under 18. In addition, this cohort monetizes about 40% higher compared to younger users.
With these insights, Roblox is prioritizing the development of high-fidelity novel games through initiatives such as the Roblox Incubator, targeting an audience that is becoming more diverse, older, and economically valuable.
“The creativity of Roblox developers has always amazed us,” said Vlad Loktev, Chief Creator Ecosystem Officer at Roblox. “Our vision for Roblox is to be the platform for all ages, and we are calling on ambitious creators with bold ideas to build the next generation of experiences. These new programs provide the mentorship, resources, and discovery support needed to turn those visions into commercial hits.”
Roblox Incubator to Support Game Development
The Roblox Incubator is a six-month, milestone-driven program created to help experienced development teams refine promising game concepts into polished, scalable, and commercially successful titles.
Participants in the Roblox Incubator will receive direct mentorship from Roblox subject matter experts. The program will also provide guidance on development strategies, audience building, and platform growth, helping creators transform their ideas into fully realized games that can reach millions of players.
Through structured milestones and expert support, the Roblox Incubator aims to accelerate the development of high-quality titles that expand Roblox’s ecosystem of immersive experiences.
Roblox Jumpstart Program for New and Emerging Creators
The company has also launched Roblox Jumpstart, a continuous program aimed at helping new creators learn how to build on the Roblox platform while also enabling experienced developers to explore new types of gameplay.
Applications for the Jumpstart program opened on March 12 and will remain available on a rolling basis. Game pitches for Jumpstart will begin in person during the upcoming Game Developers Conference (GDC) and will continue throughout the year.
Jumpstart participants will receive mentorship from Roblox experts and assistance with both on-platform and off-platform user acquisition initiatives designed to help games reach larger audiences.

Technology Roadmap to Enable Next-Generation Experiences
The introduction of the Roblox Incubator also aligns with Roblox’s broader technology roadmap, which focuses on providing creators with advanced tools to develop high-fidelity, immersive gaming environments.
Key platform technologies include Scalable Lightweight Interactive Models (SLIM), Texture Streaming, and enhanced server authority systems, which enable developers to create visually rich and technically sophisticated worlds capable of scaling across multiple devices.
These technologies are designed to help creators build the types of high-quality gaming experiences expected by the platform’s growing older user base.
Applications Now Open
Applications for both the Roblox Incubator and the Jumpstart program are now open. Developers interested in participating can submit applications through the Roblox Newsroom, where additional details on selection criteria and the application process are available.
